The equivalent of TV’s interruptive advertising is making waves across online video websites - including YouTube. Today, I experienced this first-hand when I put on a video on YouTube - I was greeted with the McDonald’s new breakfast commercial. This was surely not pleasing as a frequent YouTuber. Although, short commercials have been around for awhile on YouTube - they used to show them only on their TV shows/Movies channel (as with Hulu) - not for a small 4 minute video!
Gradually but painfully (for viewers) Google seems to be squeezing revenue from every video played to increase revenues.
